Background

The client partnered with The Insights Desk to understand how U.S. physicians manage moderate-to-severe knee osteoarthritis, with a focus on injectable therapies. The study included rheumatologists, orthopaedic surgeons, and sports medicine physicians to explore current treatment practices, unmet needs, reimbursement challenges, and perspectives on emerging OA therapies. Methodology

The Insights Desk identified US-based physicians directly involved in treating knee OA patients and making therapy decisions. Experts were selected for their experience with intra-articular
corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid and newer injectable therapies. Preference was given to specialists familiar with treatment adoption, clinical trials or emerging OA products, helping the client hear practical perspectives from clinicians managing these patients regularly in real
practice settings.

Conclusion

The expert interviews helped the client understand how knee OA is currently treated in the US and where key gaps remain. The research provided clarity on standard of care, injectable therapy use, payer coverage and formulary access. It also helped the client assess physician
